SCRATCH Project: advancing scRNAseq for clinical translation

Two years after its launch, the SCRATCH project is progressing with excellent results and an increasingly strong and productive partnership among its collaborators.

Funded under the Eurostars 3 program and managed by the international Eureka network, SCRATCH is a cutting-edge initiative aimed at translating scientific discoveries into real-world applications to improve cancer diagnostics and patient care.

Addax Biosciences, IEO – Istituto Europeo di Oncologia, and LaCAR MDX Technologies continue to work together on developing a novel single-cell RNA sequencing approach based on SPLiT-seq, with a specific focus on lung cancer and clinical translation.

An important component of the project is the integration of GAFIX, the formalin-free single cell fixation protocol developed by Addax, ensuring high RNA preservation and excellent cell recovery while eliminating carcinogenic risks for laboratory personnel.

The goal is to develop a reliable and sensitive single-cell sequencing test, capable of enabling more precise tumor characterization and supporting truly personalized oncology.

We are proud to contribute to this international effort, reaffirming our commitment to innovation and impactful science.
